Have a wonderful break!

Today, we had snowy fun day.

4th grade math began with a facts test. 3rd graders did a salmon observation and seesaw post, and then played math games on the ipads.

We enjoyed a snowy morning recess-quite a treat since the weather has been too cold for the past many days for us to go outside. Most kids build snow forts and snowmen! (Please bring boots and snowpants every day, otherwise, kids must stay on dry pavement.)

We went to check out books from the media center and book room so that we have enough books to read for the eleven days we're out of school! Some of our big readers are bringing home stacks to keep them occupied for HOURS!!!! ;)

Mrs. Davis' class had time to make paper snowflakes that are six or twelve pointed like nature makes. We watched some scientific movies about snow. Click here to see the movies and for a tutorial on how to make these snowflakes! We use coffee filters; I bought 700 on Amazon for under $10. This is hours of good crafty fun (click here to purchase your own)! We'll make more after break to finish decorating the classroom! Davis kids brought home a ziplock bag with a string of yarn and their good snowflakes and a few filters if the kids wanted to take some to do at home.

We had lunch, recess, Eng. Tech./Art and Engage, then our fabulous parties organized by our fabulous parents!

Thank you all for the generosity that you showed us this week for the holidays. We truly have THE best jobs to work with your children and you, and we are so appreciative of the generosity and support that you give us all year round.

See you in 2017! Have a happy, special time with your families over the next week and a half!

Wishing you all the best,
Kim and Tom

Homework Over Break:
  • Read as much as you can!!
  • Write thank you notes for presents you receive. This is a great chance to show off your cursive to your grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members!
  • Practice your math facts, do Compass Learning.  (We suggest Reading-Vocabulary, or Math-Measurement and Data).
  • Spend time with your family. Play a board game or a card game.
  • Clean your room. Ask what chores you can do to help out around the house.
  • Be nice to your siblings.
  • Cooperate with your parents.
  • Play in the snow.
  • Rest. Enjoy yourself!!
