A huge goal of third grade math is to learn multiplication and division facts and a huge goal of fourth grade math is to master these facts! Third grade students will be bringing home their Homework and Remembering books today, so they can use them to practice their basic facts. For both grade levels, we are making an effort to do our homework pages in class every day and to assign no homework other than practicing basic facts, which is super important work!
For both grade levels (and even kids in 5th grade math), here are two great study helpers:
- Resources for facts practice: http://bcs34.wikis.birmingham.k12.mi.us/Practice+Basic+Facts
- Resources for extra homework pages to support the skills and concepts we're learning this year in class. Print a worksheet and check with answer pages. www.commoncoresheets.com Great for extra practice, remediation, or enrichment.
Happy Rosh Hashana. There is no homework tonight for those kids who are celebrating this holiday.

Social Studies: quiz on continents and oceans on Friday. Study sheet is posted on blog entry from last week and kids took them home too.
