In third grade math, we are reviewing multi-digit addition and subtraction. Please ask your child to show you his or her homework and the methods he or she uses to check work.
In fourth grade math, we are learning about fractions. This is a great unit to work alongside your child on homework.
In reading, we finished our whole-class reading of Because of Winn Dixie, focusing our lessons on character studies. For example, we learned how secondary characters support the main character's journey and how the main character changes during the novel.
In science, we are studying animals and learning how scientists classify them.
In social studies, we have been learning about our nation's government.
In writing, we are writing opinion essays, learning how to craft a strong argument, with reasons and evidence, as well as addressing the counterclaim.
