Election Day!!

Tomorrow, students have no school in observance of Election Day. (Teachers will be marking and printing report cards.) We study government in third and fourth grade. Today, we spent two hours of our afternoon studying the presidential election process and learning that being an informed voter is a responsibility of U.S. citizens. We also read more of our read-aloud, The Kid Who Ran for President.

If you are going to the polls tomorrow, take your children!!! They have an election day packet, and the last page is an observation activity of what it is like to go vote. We'll be following the electoral college process later this week. Your child also has two Scholastic News magazines covering the election. For more, visit http://election.scholastic.com/ and play a fun electoral college game at http://election.scholastic.com/election-central/Electoral_Challenge_Game/ .

Happy Election Day!

We passed out a field trip permission slip and a second quarter choice hour schedule today.
