Character Education in D.C., Part 2 of 2

Oh my goodness did we learn a lot in our sessions! I focused a lot on service learning in the sessions I chose, AND I ended up learning how kids can change the world. I met some powerfully inspiring educators: a principal from New Jersey whose fifth grade students raise trout, Cathryn Berger Kaye, Michele Borba, Dr. Marvin Berkowitz, Clifton Taulbert, Joseph Gauld, Usha Balamore, Susan Gelber Cannon, and BPS' own Mrs. Kim Blastic from Pierce, who says hello to all of you!!

Here's a photo from the Promising Practices Poster Session-a fair where teachers share ideas.

After the day's sessions, we walked a lot to see Washington DC! One teacher's fit bit said 18,000 steps after our evening walk!
