Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Maliszewski, and Mr. Morawski will be traveling to Washington, D.C with a group of other BPS staff tonight for the Character.org conference. We were awarded a Promising Practice Award for our Salmon In the Classroom project-based-learning and how we integrated character education. Third graders will take a short quiz tomorrow. This is a formative assessment-one to only measure their learning in the sense that I will use it to inform my instruction as I plan the remainder of Unit 1. I will most likely make learning groups to target specific skills. The kids and I talked about the fact that we post the important elements of problem solving on the bulletin board, and how they should look at these charts tomorrow while quizzing to help themselves.
