We had another great day at BCS! In the morning, the 4th grade math kids worked on checking multi-digit equations using the inverse operation. In 3rd grade math, the kids worked on basic facts.
In reading, both classes discussed reading goals. Reading more books, reading longer books, and looking up new words were some popular goals.
In the afternoon, we read The Kid Who Ran For President. It was a good opportunity to go over some basics of politics. Seley's class talked about the definition of political party (It's kind of like a team) and political slogans ("Make America Great Again" and "I'm With Her").
Finally, in social studies, both classes of kids drew floor plans of their houses, then divided their houses into regions. Kids shaded each region to show that different areas in house serve different purposes. This year we will study regions of the country, so this activity will help kids with map skills and concept of regions.
