We kicked off our first full week of school today!
In math, third graders learned why mistakes are powerful (watch https://www.youcubed.org/wim2-day-2/ ) and then analyzed a four quadrant graph of emojis, reporting both how cute and how used they were, after which, students worked in pairs to make their own graphs. Tomorrow we will see if they are easy to understand or if maybe our brains grow in attempting to understand any mistakes that we might have made. Fourth graders worked on multi-digit addition.
In reading, we went to the media center to check out books and/or our bookroom and got books at our level. In writing, we labeled the first few pages of our writer's notebook and discussed how we will decorate it. We began thinking of things we each could write about. We also began the second week of daily language practice (DOL).
In the afternoon, we worked on our all about me newspapers.
Have a great night!
