Today we found out that our application has been selected as a 2016 National Promising Practice by Character.org . Our work with the kids doing the Salmon In the Classroom will be recognized at the National Forum on Character Education in Washington DC (Oct. 14 -15) where they highlight and celebrate this year's winning practices. The Promising Practices program highlights what’s going well in classrooms across America and the world. The program is simple in scope and recognizes many wonderful ideas from passionate teachers who are making a real difference in the lives of their students. Each year, they celebrate specific, unique, and fresh ideas in character education. Thanks for your enthusiastic support of our work with this program. We are so grateful to be part of a school community where such learning is promoted.
Third graders will be finishing their ELA M-Step on Friday morning from 8:30-9:30.
Tomorrow is Take Your Child to Work Day. We will not be taking the M-Step or doing any activities that students will have to make up. Here is the reflection for Seesaw:
(Don’t
forget to contact the BCS Attendance Line with your child’s absence!)
If
you will be at work with your parent, please do a post in Seesaw about your
experience. You can share it with the
class if you like. Here are some things
you will want to tell in your Seesaw post:
_____My
parent’s company
_____My
parent’s job title
_____What my
parent does at work all day
_____How my
parent uses math, science, writing, reading, technology, teamwork in their job
_____Positive
aspects of my parent’s job
_____Something
else I want to share about my day at work
_____Feel free
to add photos as long as your parent says it’s ok and approves your
photos.
