Our day in review:
We began with 4th grade math class receiving their new books! 3rd grade math chose to do a cursive lesson today and got their books. We did a preview to skim through the book to see what we'd learn, and then we did our first page of cursive! We are getting closer to finishing our newspaper posters to be laminated and displayed. Many kids are finished! We read Crenshaw as a whole class read aloud and posted on Seesaw-4th graders served as teachers and taught their 3rd grade buddies! Can you believe that it has been two weeks since we began this school year? Wow. Our classroom families are already strong ones, uniting with a spirit of teamwork, fun, and creating work that is important to us. Next week, we are beginning our Michigan studies, using our math books, and crafting stories in our writers' notebooks. We have a lot to look forward to next week!
Enjoy the warm fall weekend :)
Yours,
Kim and Tom
Our planner:
- Some kids still need a 5"h x 4"w action photo of themselves so we can publish (laminate!) their newspaper poster.
- Parents, read below to connect yourself on Seesaw with your child to see our first posts!
- Homework preview: next week we will be asking your child to decorate their writers' notebooks at home with photos and momentos from their lives just in case you'd like to begin to gather photos over the weekend. (We haven't mentioned this to the kids yet.)
Parents' Homework-connect with your child's online learning portfolio!!! We created our first posts today!
This year we are using Seesaw to showcase your child's learning! Your child will post to Seesaw to create a digital portfolio. Seesaw is private; you'll only see posts created by your child.
