Water Wednesday

Our word of the week is POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

Today we filled the salmon tank with water in anticipation of the arrival of our eggs on November 13th! Each child filled 1/2 gallon of water to total 55 gallons between the Davis, Seley, Mali, and Harvath homerooms.


We also began a research project on Native American tribes with Mrs. Truesdell in the Media Center. While learning media skills, we are figuring out, "How did Michigan’s Native Americans use Michigan’s resources?" 

In the morning, we read our new read aloud, The Tiger Rising, around which we are doing a unit of study on narrative reading and writing. We are developing theories about the story line, as well as taking responsibility for our own reading; for example, today we read with deep focus and intensity. We will be writing a piece of narrative writing from each of our lives as well.
