Today third graders learned strategies for x8 facts. Fourth graders reviewed multi-digit multiplication. Then, we sang happy birthday to Sophie and Dylan. We read the next few chapters of The Tiger Rising and learned how to do a synthesized summary, not telling every detail, but organizing the important events in order. After visiting the book room with our book buddies and chose realistic fiction books at our level to read in class, we enjoyed time to read independently. After lunch, recess, and PE, we drafted our personal narratives (true stories from our lives) and learned about formatting a story on a google doc in a standardized way for our class publication. Then we learned about heat energy. Ask your child about the thermal image of the cat.
