Our day in review:
Third grade math has watched most of this Nova Math Mystery video, inspiring us to see the power and beauty of math. Today we watched this short clip asking, "What is math?" and then answered this question as it applies to each of us. Watch Seesaw on Monday, because our final thoughts are headed there once we're done! Fourth grade math is studying place value and exploring big numbers up to millions. Kids have been focusing on saying big numbers correctly.
We have been doing foundational work to establish a culture that loves reading and writing. Kids have been free writing excitedly in their writer's notebooks, and devouring books for enjoyment with their reading buddies.
We spent some time this afternoon devoted to team building, playing board games in groups, focusing on turn-taking, good sportsmanship, and integrity in following the game's rules.
