We then looked at a fun number puzzle from Stanford's YouCubed Week of Inspirational Math.
We read Rabbits, Rabbits Everywhere: A Fibonacci Tale by Ann McCallum and then watched a video from YouCubed about patterns and what the Fibonacci sequence is (you have to register with YouCubed to watch the videos). If you want to see more about how these numbers appear in nature, check out this website. The kids figured out the pattern to this number puzzle ALL ON THEIR OWN! They are amazing math thinkers.
